Using doTERRA essential oils with Type 1 Diabetes

My son and I have are both type 1 diabetics. I've had diabetes for 24 years, was diagnosed at the age of 13 and my son has had diabetes for 4 years, was diagnosed at the tender age of 2. One of the hardest aspects of being a diabetic is getting sick. Our immune system is just terrible, the slightest cough, runny nose, sneeze in the air can cause us diabetics to become sick for days, sometimes even weeks. And when illness happens, high blood sugars follow. Not enjoyable at all. My son and I do get the flu shot every other year instead of every year, it makes us both sick for a week, sometimes two and I don't enjoy it every year, so we've decided to only do it every other year. So with this being our 'odd year' as the doctors call it, we have looked for other alternatives to prevent getting sick and trying to stay as healthy as we can. We started using doTERRA essential oils earlier in the year, around March and have found a significant difference in our tendency to catch the flu or feel sick in anyway. My son is in first grade, last year he was in kindergarten full time and was missing at least one day every other week. Whether it was not feeling well, high sugars, starting to get sick, but not completely sick, every week or so we were dealing with something. So the beginning of this school year we tried something different. Around August I started my son on doTERRA's children's vitamins at night, very yummy multi-vitamin designed for children and more nutritious than the gummy vitamins you get at the grocery store. I also started using doTERRA's protective blend oil OnGuard on the bottom of my sons feet each morning and night. He loves this oil, so to save a little money so he wasn't going through the entire bottle everyday I decided to put 20 drops of OnGuard in a roller bottle and fill the rest with fractionated coconut oil. Now he can put on as much as he wants, whenever he wants. Let me tell you, it's been amazing!! He's only stayed home 1 day from school this year and we're already into the middle of October! I kept him home one day because his sugars were so high and I couldn't get them down, come to find out he was feeling just fine, but needed 2 pump sight changes in less than 24 hours, it happens. We love these essential oils, there are so many benefits to using each and everyone of them, I'll be posting more info, but for now if you're interested in learning more about doTERRA there's a link below to my personal website. Or for those of you who know me from facebook, feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

Thanks
